The greatest comeback since Lazarus last night, saw me get hit by the deck in spectacular fashion, to post a winning session of nearly 4 buyins in 350 hands, to actually post a profit on the week!

Suddenly it was me instead of the villains flopping sets and trips, completing flush draws, getting paid off with big pairs etc...

I was playing strictly according to my new rules (from yesterday's blog) but I only really faced one tricky spot, where I made a "Rule 4" laydown.

As it happened, the villain, who plays 35/15/1.2, was pushing his draw hard and I folded the best hand, but I am thrilled by this laydown, as I think it shows a new maturity in my game. I will be making this laydown all day long from now on.

I have posted 2 more hands in my Big Hands Blog if you should care to review them, although they both pretty much played themselves.

  • Very nice recovery yesterday and in the end a bad week was turned into a good one.

Not sure if I could have layed down the QQ there especially against my enemy the short stack. They say the sign of a Good Poker Player is to be able to lay down the best hand. for the most part though this kind of play is definitely going to be +EV over the Long Run.

  • nice recovery they are so pleasing

on the hand though im not so sure i would have layed this down in isolation...the short stack has only one bet to win this hand really and thats an all in bet...admittedly he has a draw and the other guy must be on a draw too.

however if this was a hand towards the end of the session i know that i have sometimes been happy to lay a big hand down rather than risk stacking off and damaging the sessions results .

and being able to lay down a big hand is a positive attribute

  • Hand 1 QQ)
I disagree with the guys here I think this is a bad fold this is a draw heavy board 1 where alot of action usually will take place and a big pair is usually a favorite. Sure you will get sucked out on a few times but the 1s you win will make it +.

If your feeling that your going to lose with these kind of hands you should take a break beacuse these are the hands that make the $ and if your playing them weakly your making mistakes.

I will have a look at your big hands posts during the week Liverpool are just about to play and its time to have a few drinks. Best of luck for next week your having a solid month so far.
